We're Married!!!

February 18th, 2012.
I am one of the very lucky women who honestly and truly got to marry her best friend.
I do not know what I would do without this wonderful man, nor what I did right in my life to deserve such a fantastic partner.

We kept it simple and sweet.

We first woke up and enjoyed some champagne we received when we bought our home together.

Then I headed to my parents house where the ceremony was to be held to get ready.
We invited our immediate family, and of course, at the last minute I changed my mind and gathered friends who were originally the wedding party to attend.

We hired our friend the lovely Tara O. to be our photographer, and got some wonderful memories.

With Aaron's classic 1950 Cadillac, and a few simple hand made banners and scattered flowers, we were ready to rock.

My sister, Rachel, was my Matron of Honor and Aaron's sister, Candy, was his Best Woman.

We had one of our best friends, Ben, be our officiant.

We got everything ready, enjoyed some drinks, waited for everyone to arrive, and for the sun to start to set.

We said "I Do".

 Signed on the dotted line:

The WRONG line... haha oops!

And became husband and wife.

Then I did a quick dress change and headed out to a fancy dinner at Durants with our family.

And lived happily ever after :)

We're Engaged!!!

I absolutely loved our engagement weekend.

I tell Aaron all the time how that was the best vacation and most fun I have ever had with him.
We had planned a trip for New Years Eve/ New Years Day to go Williams and take the train to the Grand Canyon.

We were both super excited to go on our first train ride.

We drove from Phoenix to Williams and stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel.
We enjoyed a short road trip filled with good music and conversation with the snow covered forest providing a beautiful backdrop.

Once we got checked in and settled into the hotel we skipped over the train tracks and went bar hoping in the very small, rustic town of Williams.

Let me show you how rustic: LOL!

We spent New Years Eve exploring the town, drinking, talking, laughing, and enjoying each others company. It was PERFECT!
We didn't even mind all the crazy Polar Express kids running around or the super hairy guy hogging the Jacuzzi :)

The next day was New Years Day 2012 and we hopped on the train to go see the Grand Canyon. That is where he proposed. He got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and asked me to be his wife...I think...super awkward/beautiful moment. We have  a video, but I hate watching my self on video so I am not posting it.

Of coarse I said yes and a group of onlookers started clapping. LOL!
The fact that he went all by himself and put so much effort into picking out the ring he thought I would love and cherish is so very very sweet.

We booked a package that included one night stay and the train tickets to the Grand Canyon on the Observation Dome. The seating there was pretty sweet as you are enclosed in a glass dome so you can see all your surrounding, and includes a champagne toast and snacks.

Even though we had hoped for a snow covered landscape, just being on the train and having a new experience together was wonderful.

The champagne toast just so happened to be perfect timing on the way back!

We drove home that night as a newly engaged couple.

I only wish that we had stayed another day and eloped. The thought went through my head, and I very much wish we would have kept our bliss a secret and enjoyed the happiness between ONLY us.
Such a romantic thought :)

He must have been pretty confident, because this is what I saw when we got home!!!

Is he the best or what? I sure do love this man and I know I always, always will.
